Company Profile
Analytical Database Systems was founded in 1994,
endorsed by the Sheffield Technical Enterprise Council. Limathon Limited was formed in
1995, specifically to market ADS products. The two original ADS products,
HPLC Column Log and Instrument Manager, have both evolved into todays market
leading products, known as HPLC Column Manager, and LIMA, and are now both at
Version 6 of their release.
Originally
Limathon produced databases for the analytical science industry, to securely store audit trail data for GLP
/ ISO compliance. However, more recently the company has specified
and designed databases for clients to store information on other aspects
of clinical, industrial and commercial importance.
In
1997 ADS branched into Project Consultancy, providing Programme Office
services including Project Planning, Project Finances, Risk and Issue
Management and Change Control, while also developing software solutions in
this area for major utilities companies.
In 1998,
after two years in development, ADS announced their first release of a
clinical database for assessing Lupus patients. BLIPS was developed
originally as a software solution for the British Isles Lupus Assessment
Group (BILAG) who had developed a clinical scoring system known as the
BILAG Index.
Later in 1998, and ADS and Limathon were
brought together and ADS-Limathon Limited was founded. The company is
still privately owned and run by its founding directors.
In early in 1999 ADS-Limathon Limited's quality approach was officially
recognised when the company was accredited
ISO9001:1994 for software design, development, manufacture and support, and was
subsequently accredited to ISO9001:2000.
In 1999
ADS-Limathon developed their first Project Mangegement Tool, Issue
Manager, for managing Risks, Issues and Change Control. This has been
customised for many different customers and is also known to many as
'RAID' (Risks and Issues Database)
In 2003 another
major milestone was reached when Limathon™ software, BLIPS™, was
used for the first time in a pharmaceutical clinical trial. Since then
several further lupus clinical studies have been undertaken using BLIPS.
From its base in Sheffield, using Limathon™ as it's
trademark, ADS-Limathon Limited now develops and markets a range of database solutions for the IT, Clinical, Pharmaceutical
and Analytical industries. The company also offers database consultancy, project
management, and programme office services to these and all other
sectors of industry and commerce.
Limathon™ software is already used in
